Hilton Washington DC/Silver Spring

We took a family vacation with three adults, a grandma and two kids (ages ten and eight). We all stayed in a family suite that slept six people and were very comfortable. Staff and location were great. The room was very noisy. You can here others in the rooms next to yours. No fridge in room to store water. no paper in the am. The USAToday did not arrive until after 6pm everyday. Small issues that can be retified...but the Hilton REALLY needs to ban smoking in all rooms and floors. The room only Looked good, a towel rack was missing. The headboard was pulled off the wall, the A/C cover was 4" off the wall. The light was off from day one, 3 house cleaners told me they would fix it, and it was still out when I checked out, The internet didn't work in my room, they tried, but couldn't fix it. The staff at the Hilton Silver Springs was nice. However, as a family staying during summertime, the pool was not available until early evening and the showers were less than warm in the hotel rooms. The bathroom was very small and I was charged $12 a day for parking. It seemed a little scammish, to add an extra fee on top of what I had planned to spend. Overall I would not rate this as a 3 star hotel, with the exception of the staff. ...read more
